Ok, “The Team” consists of me, Jeanine Granfin Holly, Founder and CEO of Holly Copywriting. When I say “we,” I really mean “me.” I’m the only employee who ever shows up at the office; the only one who can get by with drinking the boss’s coffee every morning.
I earned two degrees — Journalism/Advertising and English Literature — from the University of Oregon (Eugene). Since then, I have been a staff writer in several hotshot advertising agencies. I earned my stripes in Direct Response Marketing from the infamous Bill Brown and Chris Marlow while a writer at Rosen/BrownDirect.
Staff writerships (recent to ancient):
- Holly Copywriting, Portland, OR
- The Nautilus Group, (Health & Fitness), Vancouver, WA
- Rosen/BrownDirect, (Direct Response Agency), Portland, OR
- Marketing One, (Financial Products), Portland, OR
- Ross & Sullivan Advertising, Eugene, OR
- Evans/Kraft Advertising, Portland, OR
- Cole & Weber Advertising, Portland, OR
- Tektronix, (Test & Measurement), Wilsonville, OR
- Pacific Communications, Malone, WA
I have been serving the Greatest Northwest since 1997 as a senior consultant and writer for Holly Copywriting. I have written every imaginable form of communication for every imaginable type of product and service.
Confession #1: No one has ever actually called me a hotshot copywriter (at least, not to my face). Perhaps because I don’t look good in black. I don’t know. Fortunately, it hasn’t kept me awake nights. Getting called anything is good, but getting called back, again and again, is my highest reward and that has happened a lot in my tenure as a copywriter.
Confession #2: I never ever thought I’d have my own living, breathing Website. I’ve helped create tons of client Websites, but never my own. (The cobbler has no shoes?) It has given me greater empathy for my clients. I’m a nervous wreck.
I am also a Native Oregonian, and the uncontested owner of the World’s Largest and Oldest Wheatie® which can be viewed in person upon request. But I digress...
